Fiona Mackenzie

I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor and believe the therapeutic relationship is a collaborative relationship, mutually shaped by both client and therapist.  It is a space where healing can take place by exploring aspects of your past which continue to affect your present.  I believe that all people have innate skills and strengths and have the potential to live rich and meaningful lives but sometimes get stuck in patterns and behaviours that interfere with their ability to grow.  I believe psychotherapy is an important tool to help people discover their natural ability to heal, to love and live healthy and fulfilling lives.

My approach is integrative, mainly drawing on the Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic models of psychotherapy, alongside Attachment Theory, Gestalt,  Existential and Person Centred Therapy, CBT.   You can read a brief outline of these here.

Some of the issues I work with include, but are not exclusive to, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, OCD, self-harm, relationship issues, family issues, stress, bullying, panic attacks, addiction, confidence, career issues, and body dysmorphia.

As well as providing psychotherapy, I offer a range of resources, such as Assertiveness Training, Self-Awareness, Team Building, Mediation, and a variety of workshops and seminars on one-off and brief series basis.
